Activity 92 | Our Neighborhood

Objective: To develop and refine writing skills through a consistent, intentional practice focused on real-world application. This includes observing everyday life within the neighborhood, identifying meaningful events and untold stories, and reporting them with clarity, accuracy, and a strong journalistic voice to build community awareness.

INSTRUCTIONS: BEFORE STARTING THE ACTIVITY, MAKE SURE TO READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.

Observe your neighborhood carefully over the course of a week, paying attention to local events (whether in person or through social media platforms), daily routines, community interactions, or notable issues. In your Virtual Professionals notebook, write a short article or journalistic piece (200-300 words) that reports your neighborhood clearly and objectively. Focus on practicing essential writing skills such as clarity, structure, factual accuracy, and engaging storytelling. Use descriptive language when necessary, but avoid opinion unless clearly marked as such. Submit your final piece along with a brief reflection (100–150 words) on what you observed and how the experience helped improve your writing skills.

Do not use ChatGPT or any AI tools to generate your output. However, you may use ChatGPT to check the grammar.

Important Note: As much as possible, do this activity when you are calm, not rushed, and when your mind is clear and relaxed. Avoid doing it during busy or stressful moments to fully benefit from the experience.
