Activity 83 | Time To Recharge

Objective: Promote effective break-taking habits that genuinely restore mental energy and improve focus by encouraging non-digital, restorative activities such as physical movement, mindful breathing, and engaging in low-effort, non-stimulating tasks—instead of defaulting to social media use between work sessions.

Article: #5. Take Real Breaks To Refresh Your Focus

INSTRUCTIONS: BEFORE STARTING THE ACTIVITY, MAKE SURE TO READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.

Using Loom, record yourself reading the article aloud. You may split the reading part into as many recordings as necessary. Please note that you only need to read the list #5. Take real breaks to refresh your focus. In your Virtual Professionals notebook, list 3 or more things you usually do during short breaks (5–10 minutes). Be honest! For each one, ask yourself: Does this activity actually help me feel rested and recharged? Now, for each activity that doesn’t help you feel recharged, choose a better alternative (e.g., Instead of scrolling on Facebook, try a short walk or stretching.). Explain why doing this new go-to-break can possibly improve your productivity at work. Your output should be at least 200 words.

Do not use ChatGPT or any AI tools to generate your output. However, you may use ChatGPT to check the grammar.

Important Note: As much as possible, do this activity when you are calm, not rushed, and when your mind is clear and relaxed. Avoid doing it during busy or stressful moments to fully benefit from the experience.
