Activity 53 | Humble Victory

Objective: To develop the ability to approach disagreements with an open mind, recognizing that there are greater values than simply winning an argument. By prioritizing understanding, growth, and meaningful connections over the need to be right, we can foster stronger relationships, gain deeper insights, and cultivate wisdom in every interaction.

INSTRUCTIONS: BEFORE STARTING THE ACTIVITY, MAKE SURE TO READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.

Read the article: Why Being More Willing to Lose an Argument Will Actually Help You Win in Life

Carefully and sincerely read the article. After finishing it, reflect on a past conflict or misunderstanding where you lost your temper and reacted emotionally. Instead of engaging in a meaningful conversation to resolve the issue, it escalated into an argument. As a result, rather than mending the relationship, it led to a falling out or a complete break in ties with that person.

Use Loom to record yourself while sharing the entire story, including your reflections and regrets about that past experience. The recording should be at least 10 minutes long. Since Loom can only record a maximum of 5 minutes, you may split the recording into as many recordings as necessary. You can use your preferred language or a mix of English, Tagalog, and Bisaya—whichever helps you express yourself better.

Important Note: As much as possible, do this activity when you are calm, not rushed, and when your mind is clear and relaxed. Avoid doing it during busy or stressful moments to fully benefit from the experience.
